New toolkit available to support new entrants into Tourism sector
A new toolkit has been launched to support new entrants into the Tourism & Hospitality industry.
Supported by Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Tourism Alliance, the toolkit had been developed by industry and includes resources and guidance to find support through the training, upskilling and career opportunities available locally and nationally.
The toolkit includes information on support that is available for the training and development of staff, achieving net zero, equality and diversity in the workplace, mental health and wellbeing and fair work.
The toolkit has been developed to help alleviate issues within the sector where many businesses have highlighted the difficulties of effectively inducting new staff into their business given the staffing pressures they are under. Support to do this would be extremely useful to ensure staff are retained within the business and the sector.
This new resource will be a great support in helping with the induction of new entrants into the sector. It has all the resources for information and support needed to access training, funding and other opportunities within the tourism and hospitality sector.

The toolkit also provides an introduction to the national tourism strategy Outlook Scotland 2030, and highlights support provided to business by VisitScotland and a range of other public and industry bodies.
