Parent and carer research – Parent’s Voice 2022/23

Parents and carers are one of the main influencers over the choices young people make about subjects and careers.   

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) works in close partnership with schools to support young people to make informed career choices and would value feedback from parents and carers on our services. You can do this by taking part in a short survey.

The aim of this survey is to ask about parent and carer awareness and use of SDS services and how they talk to their young person about careers.

This information will allow us to understand parent and carer needs to shape our services.

We may use quotes for reporting purposes; however, all responses will be anonymised and will not be used in a way that would allow any individual to be identified.  

By completing this survey, consent is given to us using participants’ personal data (postcode, gender and ethnicity).

Enabling us to better understand how our services meet the needs of people across different areas of Scotland, and also so that we can fulfil our obligations under the Equality Act (2010).

Personal data will be held until 31 May 2024 and then deleted from the online questionnaire system and SDS records.

If participants wish to withdraw their consent, they should contact SDS’s Data Protection Officer at DPO@sds.co.uk. Consent can be withdrawn at any time until 31 May 2024.

The survey will be open from Monday 7 November 2022 to Wednesday 31 May 2023.
