New chapter for career service in Glenrothes and Levenmouth
Residents in Glenrothes, Levenmouth and surrounding areas will soon have more choice about where and when they can speak to a careers adviser.
Skills Development Scotland (SDS) who deliver the national career service, is expanding its services in the community.
National skills body SDS offers free, impartial career information, advice and guidance in secondary schools and for people of all ages in centres and community venues across Scotland.
As part of the change, SDS is moving out of its career centre in Glenrothes’ Rothes Hall to be closer to customers in the area.
Evonne Boyd, SDS Head of Operations North East explained: “Although our Glenrothes centre is closing, customers will still be able to access face-to-face career information, advice and guidance in the Glenrothes area.
“Our professionally qualified careers advisers are now available for appointments in the Glenrothes campus of Fife College on Stenton Road. In addition, customers can also visit a careers adviser in Fife College’s Levenmouth campus.
A further option is the SDS centre in Kirkcaldy. Evonne added: “We want to give customers across the area more flexibility on where and when they visit us.
“We’re looking forward to reaching more customers across Fife and working closely with our partners to deliver community-based career services that are accessible to more people.”

Dorothee Leslie, Vice-Principal, Academic Strategy at Fife College said: “Fife College is looking forward to further enhancing its partnership links with Skills Development Scotland, as some of our SDS colleagues prepare to join us on our Glenrothes campus.
“SDS will continue to support their customers from within the college premises and the change to their location will allow them to ensure the service continues for their clients of Glenrothes.”
