Review of skills landscape published
Scottish Government has published the report and recommendations from the Independent Review of the Skills Delivery Landscape. It was led by James Withers, formerly Chief Executive of Scotland Food & Drink.
This report follows consultation, a call for evidence and submissions from a range of stakeholders.
Chair of Skills Development Scotland (SDS), Frank Mitchell (pictured), said:
“SDS welcomes the new Minister’s focus on building a lifelong education and skills system that’s truly responsive to future change and meets the needs of Scotland’s wellbeing economy, including for industry and employers.
“We will work constructively with the new Minister and our partners to consider the Review findings, alongside the Hayward Review recommendations and the Scottish Government’s Purpose and Principles Paper.
“We are hugely grateful to the staff of SDS, and our Trade Union partners who have shown remarkable resilience and have remained focused and worked tirelessly since the creation of SDS for the benefit of our customers.
“We will ensure they are fully involved in considering and shaping our collective approach to reform, in light of the Review findings.”
