New chapter for careers service in Kilmarnock
Residents in Kilmarnock will soon benefit from changes to the careers service.
Skills Development Scotland (SDS), who deliver the national careers service, is changing location to help more customers.
National skills body SDS offers free, impartial careers information, advice and guidance in secondary schools and for people of all ages in centres and community venues across Scotland.
As part of the change, SDS is moving to CentreStage on 13 November.
The move will bring careers services into a popular town centre community venue, with improved accessibility for customers. CentreStage is a charity which helps people achieve life changing social benefits through participation in the arts. In preparation for this, the team will move out of its careers centre at 55 John Finnie Street on 3 November.
Shona Mitchell, SDS Head of Operations South West explains: “Our professionally qualified careers advisers provide a vital service to people in Kilmarnock and across East Ayrshire.
“Our new location means customers in the town can access our services easily in a familiar setting. It also supports our ambition to work more closely with partners to make a lasting difference in the community."
