Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is changing location in Perth as part of a drive to help more people through partnership working in community venues.

The Perth team will move into the new Letham Community Hub and the YMCA’s new Y centre on Atholl Street when they open in April.

Evonne Boyd, SDS Head of Operations North East explains: “Our team in Perth will continue to provide professionally qualified careers advice when we move into our new homes in Letham Community Hub and the Y centre in April.

“We’re looking forward to moving into both sites which will offer our customers more choice about where they can come and see us. In addition to these two, we’ll also be delivering career information, advice and guidance in a number of community venues across the region including:

  • University of the Highlands and Islands (Crieff Road, Perth)
  • LOGOS Youth Project (High Street, Auchterarder and High Street, Crieff)
  • KYTHE in Kinross
  • SCYD (Gas Brae, Blairgowrie)
  • JobCentre Plus (High Street, Perth)

“Customers can make an appointment to speak to a careers adviser in any of the places listed above.”

Evonne added: “We’re excited at the prospect of continuing to deliver exceptional levels of service to residents in the Perth and Kinross area.”

Franny McGrath, Head of Development, YMCA Tayside said: “We are looking forward to working more closely with Skills Development Scotland in our new state of the art Youth Centre in Perth city centre.” He added: “This will enable young people to access a careers adviser whilst they are attending the already popular Drop In sessions, offering a more joined up approach in supporting them.”

Gordon Ferguson, Business & Development Manager, Letham4All said: “Letham4All is delighted to be working in partnership with SDS to support our community to grow. As our partnership develops, I fully expect that we will be empowering our community to better their skills and create more opportunities for themselves. This is just the start of a better brighter future for our community.”

SDS advisers work across the country supporting anyone looking to get into work, change career, upskill or reskill, or re-join the workforce after a career break.

Customers can contact the local SDS team on 01738 637639, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
