Delivering development driven by and for industry, with future skills in mind - the SAAB Apprenticeships Approvals Group (AAG) has published its 2024 Annual Report.
AAG is an industry-led body which reviews and approves all Scottish Apprenticeships. The annual report lays out key milestones for the group, as it continues to work as an integral part of the apprenticeships governance system in Scotland.
This year, six new apprenticeship frameworks have now been developed using the AAG’s employer-led approach. With additional pathways added to the Digital Technology Graduate Apprenticeship, and a refresh of a further seven.
The opportunity around developing the Operational Department Practitioner Graduate Apprenticeship programme has also been an important part of work for 2024, by delivering development to a key sector, at a pace and timeline that works for the industry and the talent challenges it faces.
Collaboration across the year is also picked out in the report highlighting partnerships across wider SAAB groups – which have industry partners from the public, private and third sectors - professional membership bodies, and Higher and Further Education institutions.
Ruth Jennings, Chair of the AAG, said: “It has been an incredible year, working alongside a team of highly skilled experts and stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of governance and quality assurance for apprenticeship frameworks in Scotland.
“Over the past 12 months, we have collaborated with a diverse range of industries, delivering innovative and updated apprenticeship solutions.
“Looking ahead, I am eager to continue shaping the skills landscape, making a meaningful impact on apprentices, employers, and all connected stakeholders.”
Future activity includes framework reviews and support for the review of the ‘Definition of Apprenticeship’.
