New location for the career service in Dundee
SDS is changing location in Dundee as part of a drive to help more people through partnership working in community venues
Skills Development Scotland (SDS), the organisation that delivers the national career service, is changing location as part of a drive to help more people through partnership working in community venues.
SDS careers advisers offer free, impartial career information, advice, and guidance for people of all ages in secondary schools, centres and community venues across Scotland.
SDS is moving to a new venue in Dundee House, North Lindsay Street, on Monday 16 September. Customers will be able to make an appointment to see a careers adviser there, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can drop in without making an appointment between 10am and 4pm, and on Wednesdays between 1pm and 4pm.
As part of this change, the team will move out of the SDS careers centre, Royal Exchange Building on Panmure Street on Friday 13 September.
Co-location in partner premises brings the benefit of cost savings and enables SDS to increasingly deliver career services in more convenient locations for customers. The move supports the need to deliver value for money and efficiencies for investment in public services.
Connie Calvo, SDS Area Manager explains: “Our team in Dundee will continue to provide professionally qualified careers advice in our new home in Dundee House, a modern and accessible building, just a short distance from our current location."
Our advisers support people of any age looking to get into work, change career, upskill or reskill, or re-join the workforce after a career break.

Robin Presswood, Executive Director of City Development at Dundee City Council said: “A key priority for the Discover Work Partnership is ensuring that the city’s employability partners work closely together to support customers more effectively on their journey to work.
“It is very positive that the SDS regional team will be sharing our facilities in Dundee House with the unit that leads strategic employability work across the city.”
Connie added: “We’ll be delivering services in Dundee House from Monday 16 September 2024. Customers can contact the local SDS team on 01382 318 600, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.”
