Nominations open for Scottish Apprenticeship Awards
Scotland’s national skills agency has kicked-off the search for the country’s top apprentices and employers.
The Scottish Apprenticeship Awards, organised by Skills Development Scotland, recognise apprentices, employers and learning providers from across the country working in a range of sectors.
Delivered in partnership with employers and learning providers across the country, the awards celebrate the vital benefits apprenticeships bring to individuals and the economy.
Showcasing apprenticeship impact
Skills Development Scotland Chair, Frank Mitchell said: “Designed by employers, empowering the right skills, apprenticeships play an essential part in Scotland’s drive for economic success, while providing greater opportunity for people from a diverse range of backgrounds to progress in life and work.
“The expansion of Scottish Apprenticeships is one of the great success stories of recent years, giving thousands of Scots access to high-quality work-based learning pathways, while delivering the vital skills employers and industry need.
“The Scottish Apprenticeship Awards are a fantastic platform to recognise the significant success and impact of apprentices across the country - and the invaluable support of employers and learning providers who invest in apprenticeships.”
Delivering essential skills
Award categories will highlight the outstanding achievements of apprentices, the invaluable support of employers and learning providers, and the essential role of apprenticeships in supporting Scotland’s economic and climate change ambitions.
Interim Director of CBI Scotland, Mags Simpson said: “Apprenticeships continue to play a crucial role in helping build the experience and skills that employers need.
“It has never been more important to celebrate all that is good about Scottish Apprenticeships and recognise apprentices, employers and learning providers working together to address persistent skills shortages and support growth.
“We encourage all our members and businesses across the country to get involved and spotlight the best in work-based learning.”
These awards are an important opportunity to recognise the collaboration that makes apprenticeships work – highlighting the success of apprentices, their employers and learning providers across the length and breadth of the country.
