Professional Learning

The SDS Education team has created a range of Career-long Professional Learning (CLPL) resources to support practitioners with their understanding of skills and meta-skills.

Using either online or face-to-face workshops practitioners will:

  • Gain knowledge on the key drivers and policies behind embedding skills across the curriculum.
  • Be provided with opportunities to reflect on current practice,
  • Identify the next steps that need to be taken
  • Be offered suggestions on how to take forward the embedding of meta-skills in a manageable and sustainable way.

The workshops we currently have available are:

Embedding skills - This workshop considers why skills development is so important and looks at some of the challenges and practical approaches to making skills more visible, building a common skills language, and sustainably embedding skills across the curriculum. View a short video here

Meta-skills - A more focused look at meta-skills and how the Skills 4.0 framework could inform a school’s skills framework. There are activities woven throughout to engage the audience in reflection and discussion
