Inside Scotland's Tourism & Hospitality sector

Tourism

Last year almost 180,000 people worked in the Tourism sector in hotels, accommodation, camping grounds, restaurants, museums and visitor attractions.

The number of people employed in the sector is expected to increase and there is a strong focus on Fair Work, looking after staff as well as equality & diversity in recruitment.

The National Tourism Strategy, Scotland Outlook 2030, sets out a vision for Scotland to become “the world leader in 21st century tourism”.

The following videos were recorded during the SDS Sector LMI sessions running during January - June 2024.

Presenters used data from the Sectoral Skills Assessment reports from 2023.
