Understand Scottish and local Labour Market Information as part of my planning - for curriculum, partnership activity and work with employers

Here are some examples of how professionals and influencers have used Labour Market Information (LMI) in education

Pupil pathways into construction
City of Edinburgh Council have worked in partnership with industry help to fill the skills gap and develop pathways for young people in the construction industry while achieving a level 5 qualification. This video highlights how we are building a workforce for Edinburghs future through focussing on developing skills in stonecarving and roofing which will be crucial in Edinburgh due to the structure of their buildings.
We have focussed on how to make the curriculum engaging for all and encourage young people to stay on at school. By working with industry partners, the young people get an experience of trying what different areas of work would involve before selecting this as their chosen destination. We have worked in partnership with the community benefits team at the council to help make these courses sustainable and fund materials and equipment.
