A more dynamic, responsive skills system: decarbonisation of heat
Heat decarbonisation is the transition from fossil fuel heating to low carbon heat sources, including the delivery of clean heat and energy efficiency measures.
It was chosen as a Pathfinder as it is one of the early investment programmes being delivered as part of the Scottish Government’s Climate Change Plan.
Desk-based review and engagement with industry, local stakeholders and Scottish Government policy leads identified Glasgow City Region and the Shetland Islands as areas to work with partners to co-design pilot approaches.
The pilots were designed to explore delivery of a more dynamic, responsive approach.
This Pathfinder was a Shared Outcomes Framework project that reported into the Shared Outcomes Assurance Group (SOAG). The Regional Tertiary Pathfinders is also part of SOAG and is being published by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC).
It was led by Skills Development Scotland, supported by regional partners and colleagues from Scottish Funding Council and Scottish Government.Â
